My Approach
I believe in people's resilience and their capacity to heal, even in the aftermath of trauma.
For me, therapy is a partnership where individuals have the power to rewrite their own stories and gain fresh insights into themselves, their lives and relationships.

I absolutely believe that change is possible.

My therapeutic approach is informed by training in EMDR, Narrative Therapy, IFS, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology and attachment theory. Simply said I believe in the power of connection, brain science and using our body and mind for positive growth.

I have worked in New Zealand and overseas within academic settings, not-for-profits and government.
I am trained in Circle of Security and Bringing Up Great Kids parenting programmes.

Having my roots in social work I am a firm believer in everyone being experts in their own lives. I also tend to view challenges and solutions in our wider family, community, socio-political & cultural context.

I have a Bachelor of Social Work (Hons) from Massey University, and a Master of Counselling Social Work from the University of New South Wales. I am registered with the Social Workers Registration Board and have a current practising certificate. I am a member of the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers.
